How God Answers
Hello everyone,
This past week has been a little trying. Not only did I receive the news from the lawyer about my residency permit, that same day (Monday) our power was cut off. Umeme, the power company, came to read our metre and discovered that we didn't have one. The landlord didn't get one installed with the powerbox. There was no way for Umeme to bill us so they cut us off. The fine for such antics is 200,000 Ugandan Shillings or about $120. The landlord is somewhat of a shady charactor, more interested in making sure his beer bottle is never empty than seeing if his tenants are well housed. We called him everyday reminding him of the situation, but to no avail. In fact, he even called us asking if we could pay rent early for March so he could have the money. Since we don't have that kind of money just laying around, we thought for sure we wouldn't have power until March, when we paid him our rent. We prayed about it, as did our friends, although I have to admit I didn't have much, if any, faith. I knew God could somehow work things so we could get power, but how was beyond me. To my shame, God answered our prayers. Yesterday we came home to find that our power was switched back on. We still don't know how, but God is showing us that we can trust Him because He cares for us, even in the small things like electricity. So to anyone who is praying for God's help in big or small things, remember that He cares for you and He can give us exceedingly abundatly above what we ask or think.

Today Immaculate and I have been married exactly one month. What a great month it has been. It's been fun getting to know eachother more and more. Anyways, I just got done talking to my lawyer about immigration stuff. Apparently immigration officials have a different intereptation of the applicible law (the one stating I'm allowed to apply for residency because I'm married to a Ugandan) than the lawyer. We are still going to try that, so please keep praying that it works. Anyways, BIble College starts again in a week so I'm getting pretty excited about that. I have to go home now and prepare for Koinonia, the same class I helped with last semester. Well, have yourselves a great day and talk to you later.

What's this? Another update and it hasn't even been a month. This is like a miracle or something. Things here in Uganda are going great. It's the dry season so as usual it rains every day. Wait a minute, nope, that is not usual. Some people are blaming it on global warming. I think further research is necessary. Bible College is starting again soon so I will be updating this a little more regularly. Please give me a little slack. My laptop is not with me anymore. It is in Futureshop in St. Catherines getting worked on. A couple things went wrong with it. And by a couple I mean a myriad of problems. So hopefully they will get fixed and I can be reuinited with a working laptop. Until then, please bare with me.
