God is Good
I had the most wonderful evening tonight. Tonight was the midweek service at church. At 3:30 I had practice with the worship team. Then at 5:30 the service started. Anyways, I just think it's so wonderful to be singing GOd's praises. I never get tired of it. The sermon was about 1 Samuel 28. The first part was about David, who became like the person in Psalm 1 who first walks in the ways of the wicked and then stands in the way of sinners and finally sits in the seat of mockers. He was expected by the king of Philistine to go to war against Israel and David actually agreed to do it. The second part of the passage is about Saul calling up the spirit of Samuel. Pastor Craig put it together with the sin against the Holy Spirit. After many convictions and warning to Saul and Saul's refusal to listen to God, GOd refused to listen to Saul. Pastor Craig closed with a warning to those who think that they can get right with God whille they're old so they can live life up while they are young. It's a slope that after repeated warnings and convictions God will finally say that enough is enough. One of the best quotes from the sermon is " When a person sins against the Holy Spirit it is not GOd rejecting the sinner but the sinner rejecting GOd." We also had communion tonight which was also uplifting. God is good. Amen?
